Praying In Silence

 But when you pray,
go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Father,
who is unseen.
Then your Father,
who sees what is done in secret,
will reward you.
And when you pray,
do not keep on babbling like pagans,
for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
 Do not be like them,
for your Father knows what you need
before you ask him.”

MATTHEW 6:6-8

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

MATTHEW 16:24

As church services end
and we return to our (secular) lives
outside of the buildings’ doors,
we tend to slip from The Path
by acquiescing to our selfish desires,
then, to our selfish
actions.

JAMES 1:13-15

As in ROMANS 7:5,

When we are in the moment of sin,
we bear fruit for death,
so each selfish action
puts a crack in the cornerstone of The Temple.

ROMANS 7:5

If we correct our selfish tendencies
by training our minds and bodies,
we draw a new page,

build a new temple.

When we are not slow to speak out of anger,
such behavior puts a crack in the cornerstone.

A cracked cornerstone is ruined, weak and cannot become
un-cracked.

We may remove it
and replace it by cutting a fresh cornerstone.

It says, in ROMANS 7:4, THAT

we MUST support each other
and die to our old ways,
bearing fruit for love.

Train your tongue to act nicely,
and train
your feet to step prudently.

When you do that,
you will find that your soul exhibits grace.

Also, in
ROMANS 6:21,

It speaks of how your petty actions
and words
reign-you-in towards death;

speaking and acting nicely allows your soul to be viewed
and felt
via grace.

“Once you fall into negative behavior,
it’s hard to get out.
Stay positive.

There was, once, a prisoner who explained how he managed to keep a positive attitude:

My faith is:
‘I’m gonna make it out of here,
and I’m going home!’
He said.

Unknown Prisoner

“Jesus comes down and touches someone’s heart
and someone’s soul;
and they will show mercy.

A lot of people don’t have the strength
to hold their faith until that last hour.
Jesus held his faith until the last hour on the cross.
That’s when miracles happen-

In the last hour!”
I suggest that speaking out of anger is NOT “holding your faith until the last hour.”
When you speak out of anger, you give-in to temptation.
Now, when you do that, you CANNOT feel resentment towards God, For:

JAMES 1:13-15

“When tempted, no one should say,
“God is tempting me.”
For God cannot be tempted by evil,
nor does he tempt anyone;
but each person is tempted
when they are dragged away by their own evil desire
and enticed.
Then, after desire has conceived,
it gives birth to sin;
and sin,
when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

JAMES 1:13-15

The Zohar explains it as follows:
‘When man comes into the world,
it appears in him at that moment the evil spirit
which always arraigns him…
This evil spirit never forsakes man
from the day he is born into the world.
But the spirit comes to the man
from the clay he is made clean.
When does a man become clean?
At the age of thirteen years.
Then he joins himself with both spirits,
one on the right and one on the left,
and these are the two spirit
which are appointed
ever to remain by man.
If he strive after perfection,
the evil spirit is restrained,
so that the right rules the left
and both unite to secure him in all his ways.’”

The Doctrine and Literature of the Kabalah (page 203)

“For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death.”

ROMANS 7:5

Romans 11:5-6

“We are lead by grace,… At the present time, there is a remnant chosen by grace. And if by grace, it cannot be based on works; of it were, grace would no longer be grace.”

Romans 11:5-6

 What benefit did you reap
at that time
from the things you are now ashamed of?

Those things result
in death!”

ROMANS 6:21
