“Evil Riff”

Evil Riff: Lead Guitar and Lyrics Written by Richard Fritzinger; Drums and Bass written and composed by Christopher A. Van Hassel; Recorded and Mixed by Lonesome Glory Publications in Laurel, Maryland, circa. 2009. Copyright 2009; Lonesome Glory Publications.

Richard wrote this song about heroin addiction, how it pulls and drags you right back in. When he came to visit me, we jammed; and he played this song. He wrote the lyrics down for me, and I wrote a baseline, sang and laid down the vocals, then, mixed it (using a TASCAM 2488).

LYRICS:

“I see
this could be
It’s not you
It’s not me

I’m Walking.
You’re Talking.
You’re waiting.
I’m stalking.

What if
What might be
Your cancer inside me

You’re breaking
I’m waking
Keep giving
You’re taking

Why play?
Keep Scraping
It’s not you
It’s not me

Not Trying
Not Escaping
Still Waiting
Still Taking

Why Play?
Not Winning
This Ending
Beginning!

Nothing forgiven
This Pain
You’re given!

Not living
Not living
Not living

I’m Walking
You’re Talking
You’re Waiting
I’m Stalking

What if
What might be
Your Cancer
Inside me

You’re breaking
I’m Breaking
Keep giving
You’re Taking

I see
This could be

It’s not you
It’s not me

Not trying
No escaping
Still waiting
Still taking

Why play?
Not winning
This Ending
Beginning

Nothing Forgiven
Pain- you’re given

Not living
Not living
Not living

You’re Taking
Keep breaking
Keep giving
keep taking

Not trying
Not escaping
Still waiting
Still taking
Don’t Play
Not Winning
Nothing Forgiven
Your Pain- you’re given

Not Living
Not Living
Not Living”
